Anna S. Kunin, aka "chaim" (they/them)
APCC #19108, Supervised by Ellen Ottman, LMFT #124702
Do you feel like you live on the fringes? Are you at a crossroads of life, a threshold of change - or has a grief portal opened beneath you and swallowed you whole? Maybe you’re navigating trauma, identity, chronic pain, burnout, or just trying to survive in a world that hasn’t always made space for you.
Have you struggled to find validating, accessible mental health care?
I became a careworker in service to that struggle, and in service of collective liberation. I have experience working with people from all backgrounds, including disabled and chronically ill people, queer and trans people, mad and neurodivergent people, immigrants, Black, Indigenous, and brown people, sex workers and kinksters, people whose worldviews differ from Western colonial frameworks, and all the infinite intersections thereof.
My name is chaim - I’m a white, queer, trans, disabled performance artist and therapist with an M.A. in Somatic Psychology. As a clinician, I’m not interested in helping you tolerate your oppressive conditions more mindfully. I am here to support the growth of your agency, empowerment, and relationships, so that you can feel more resourced as an individual and as a member of your communities. I believe life is sacred, with all of its joys and griefs - we each deserve to thrive!
In therapy, I offer a spacious, client-centered relational space - one where you are deeply listened to and supported in listening more deeply to yourself. As we collaborate together on what approaches best meet your needs, I’ll invite opportunities for curiosity, compassion, skill-building, and processing. If they feel useful to you, I love bringing in creative and embodied practices! Depending on your interests, this could include playing with movement, sound, art, dreams, tarot, magic, or ritual. My work draws primarily from trauma-informed somatics, expressive arts, ecopsychology, DBT, and IFS.
Together, we can explore how to feel more connected to yourself, what matters to you, and the life you're creating.
I welcome you, as you are!

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll discuss what’s been feeling challenging and what you’re hoping for, and start exploring what helps you feel safe and supported. There’s no pressure to have it all figured out — our work will unfold at your pace.

That depends on your goals. Some people come for short-term support around a specific concern, while others stay longer to do deeper healing work. We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel useful and aligned with what you need.
