Callista Cox
AMFT #141253 Supervised by Kristen Crowe, LPCC #5451
The relationships we hold today often reflect the connections we have had throughout our lives. Our work together will explore your past and present relational dynamics with family, work, friends, and systems using Bowen Family Systems Theory. Therapy is inherently relational, and the most important factor in change is the therapeutic connection. My clients have described me as “human,” down to earth, quick-witted, and honest. I am guided by my values of congruence, joy, connection, safety, and comfort.
You are the expert in your experience. I practice shared decision making, meaning that I will never enforce a solution or give you advice that you did not ask for. I believe that therapy should be give and take, relational, and worth your time.
I have trained in specialized approaches to treat gender dysphoria, psychosis, PTSD, phobias, and suicidal thoughts. I use evidence-based techniques from Bowen Family Systems Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy.
I have experience working with those who are vision-impaired and blind, neurodivergent, disabled, gender non-conforming, and LGBTQIA+.

Yes. I have specific training through the TransYouth Care Symposium on providing affirming and competent support for gender-diverse and transgender clients. If you are seeking a letter for gender-affirming care (such as HRT or surgery), I can provide this within one week of our initial session, at no additional cost.

Relationship therapy sessions can include 2–5 people who are connected in some way. This may include couples (romantic or platonic), families, siblings, friends, co-parents, or colleagues. I also work with people in polyamorous or consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships. In our sessions, we’ll explore the relationship dynamics that are creating stress or conflict and make space for healthier, more supportive patterns of connection.
-
Yes. I specialize in working with disabled and chronically ill clients. Therapy can be a space to process the physical, emotional, and relational impact of chronic conditions while building coping tools and support systems that honor your reality.

I tailor therapy to your needs using evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including:
Bowen Family Systems Therapy – exploring how family systems shape current relationships
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – building psychological flexibility and values-based living
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) – skills for managing emotions and relationships
Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) – effective treatment for PTSD and phobias
Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) – making sense of traumatic experiences through storytelling
Above all, therapy with me is relational. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth, quick-witted, and honest.
