In Practice: The Reading Series
A 6-week circle for therapists to read, reflect, and integrate sustainable practice wisdom.
About the Series
Therapists often carry so much: care for our clients, pressure to “do it right,” and the realities of building practices that can sustain us over the long haul. In Practice: The Reading Series is a space to step back, reflect, and learn together.
Each round, we’ll gather around a text that speaks to the heart of this work. This fall, we’ll be diving into Radical Healership by Laura Mae Northrup, a book written for therapists and healers about creating practices that are sustainable, ethical, and deeply aligned with our values.
This is not just a book club. It’s a guided group where we read together, apply the lessons to our practices, and integrate them through reflection and action.
How It Works
Each 60-minute session blends discussion, reflection, and practical application.
We’ll follow a Learn → Apply → Integrate flow each week:
Learn → Read the chapter and share reflections in group.
Apply → Take one concrete step in your practice that is connected to the week’s theme (e.g., refining your niche statement, revisiting your sliding scale offerings, revising a policy).
Integrate → Use guided worksheets and journaling prompts to deepen the learning & your growth as a therapist and as a human.
You’ll leave not only with inspiration, but also with tools and small shifts you can put into practice right away.
